ABOUT

Tara Hills began her journey into art and photography from a very early age, always taking shoe boxes and making them into detailed houses for her toys, painting, crafting, and drawing anything that caught her eye.

After doing very well in art and graphics classes through primary and secondary school, Tara took up Photography and Graphic Design at Chichester College, West Sussex, UK. It was here that she learnt the basics of the Adobe Creative Suite and got hold of her first SLR camera.

Creative experimentation mixed with a colourful imagination, led to lots of photoshoots with friends. The results were often posted on Facebook, with 'likes' quickly growing and recommendations spreading. And so, the start of her own freelance business Tara Hills Photography & Design, was born.

A couple of years passed and Tara found herself working as the in-house graphic designer for ProCopy, a digital printers in Chichester. Through ProCopy, Tara designed various artworks for small businesses, restaurants, pubs, and some smaller items for large companies such as John Lewis and Rolls Royce.

In late 2012, the idea for a new photography series was brewing. This series would take a lot of hard work and even more time, with the aim to create most pieces within the sets by hand, or have other up-and-coming artists and designers collaborate on pieces for the shoots, bringing the artistic community together. This would be called the Divine Creative.

Then, in early 2013, Tara's aunt was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Since the news, Tara launched a GoFundMe page in an attempt to raise money for new materials to continue the series, with 20% of all donations going towards Parkinson's UK. Each print sold of the various shoots in the series would also have a percentage of the proceeds going to the models' chosen charities.

The Divine Creative series was launched mid July 2013, and is still in progress today.
